ISPO welcomes new chairman and board member

The board of the International User Group of the International Standard for Pilot Organisations (ISPO) announces the appointment of Captain Matt Easton as the new Chairman of the board.

It is with great pleasure the board of the International User Group of the International Standard for Pilot Organisations (ISPO) can announce the appointment of Captain Matt Easton as the new Chairman of the board.

Matt has been a member of the board for 3 years and is a Marine Pilot in the port of Liverpool. He follows into the footsteps of Captain Willem Bentinck who is stepping down after 6 years.

The appointment took place during the annual meeting of associates on October 20th in which 19 out of 23 associates were present. The board is looking forward to working with Matt. In that same meeting Captain Tim Wingate, Marine Pilot on the Forth in the UK was newly elected as a member of the board.

ISPO is a quality management system for pilots, by pilots and seeks to continuously improve the way pilot organisations and pilots carry out their important public task of safely bringing ships in and out of ports worldwide. The dialogue with stakeholders is an important aspect in achieving that goal. ISPO accreditation is audited annually by an independent classification society. Around 1300 pilots all over the world are now working within an ISPO accredited organisation. That number is growing steadily.
